Why the blog?
I have considered starting a blog to record our journey now for several years...I finally decided to just give it a try! I have always wanted to make a yearly scrapbook of our Homeschool activities and projects, just so I have a record and so the children could look back if they ever chose to. I'm great at getting tons of photographs, horrible about getting them printed, even worse at sitting down and making time to scrapbook. I'm hoping this blog will help me keep a record of our doings and outings and also maybe encourage others to homeschool, without taking up a ton of my time. We shall see if it works!!
I want to explain a little why I chose the title for this blog as Be Still, Have Faith, and Teach On! I chose these words, because I have trouble doing each of these things. I know the Lord tells me to "Be still, and know that I am God," in Psalm: 46:10. However, I have trouble setting time apart each day to do just that. I get busy and before I know it, another day has passed by and I didn't take time to nourish my relationship with Jesus. I also know that Jesus says, "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." in Mark 11:24, yet I have trouble having faith in the fact that this really applies to me. Teaching on through troubles and trials sometimes is very overwhelming. Life throws so much at a person at times it seems difficult to just keep going. I know one of my purposes is to teach, I am a teacher. I have taught many children and adults throughout my professional career, and in my church homes, and in my personal home. Teaching is what I do, it is part of who I am, it is my purpose in helping spread God's word. I know these things, yet at times and seasons in my life I have wanted to stop teaching. It gets tough. I am hoping that seeing these words on our blog, will remind me of these things that I need to do each day. I am hoping they will encourage me to take time to do these three task each and every day.
I hope you will join us and follow along on our journey!
