Week 16

The holidays are upon us!  We are very much already in the Christmas spirit, so we started decorating this week! In school: Math: Everyone completed 3 lessons this week in math. Lillian is working on memorizing her multiplication facts. Savannah is doing really well in pre-algebra. She is working on solving equations.  Logan is working on isolating the variables in Algebra. Language Arts: Logan is working on a literary analysis of Tom Sawyer.  Savannah is working on writing short story summaries. Savannah has also worked very hard on her novels. Lillian is working on multiple syllable words and free writing. History: We covered three lessons in Mystery of History. We discussed early Chinese dynasties, Moses and the exodus, and the Tabernacle. Science: We finished Christian Kids Explore Creation Science. Week 15

It has been a nice slow week at our house.  We have enjoyed getting to be home most days! In school: Logan: Logan completed 3 days of Easy Peasy High School.  He is enjoying this much better! Savannah: Sister completed 3 language arts lessons and three math lessons this week.  Lillian: Lilly completed 3 language arts lessons and 3 math lessons. PE: We went to the gym and had therapy only once this week.  However we have been keeping busy outside, so I'm counting all our outside time as PE this week also. Logic: There have a been many games of chess going on this week. Agri: We have tended to our various critters. We sold a goat, and learned about farm economics.  We also worked on fence building and winter gardening. We also did meat processing one night. Week 14- Sabbath Week Part 2

Us girls took way more pictures than the boys, so this post will be picture heavy! We explored the Ouachita Mountains! We took a trip to Petit Jean State Park in Arkansas this week. We traveled though the stunning Ouachita National Forest. I wished I had stopped to take some pictures through the forest, but I didn't. It is so beautiful this time of year. We stopped by the visitor center first to meet Petit Jean. We visited the lake. We checked in our room at Mather Lodge. It was built by the CCC and is absolutely beautiful. We hiked the mountain to bear cave. We went through the eye of the needle. We went to a few different overlooks. We explored the turtle rocks and hiked the mountain to rock house cave.  This is an archeological site, from early native Americans. We had a picnic lunch and played on a playground.
