Week 12

Image
This week did not go at all as planned.  I'm going to be real honest here, the last two weeks have been exceptionally emotional for me. Not only do we have several appointments happening with Logan right now to determine a surgery date for a major surgery, I also have been doing a lot of self reflection.  I have been spending a lot of time in prayer and thought trying to make some decisions for my family.  I feel a change coming, and I am not found of change.  We have had a ton of change in the last year with moving and job changing, I was hoping we could settle back into normal.  However, I feel there is more change to come, and I hope that God will help me in making the best decisions I can for my family.  Here is what we did get accomplished this week, it was not a lot of book learning! Sunday was church and visiting grandparents.  Monday we started our day with our Home Economics time.  The children all worked on a sewing project.  L...

Week 11

We had another busy week of learning this week.   Monday we some friends stay with us all day because their public school was closed.  We played at the house for awhile, then we loaded the picnic basket and headed to the park to play and have a picnic.  We then went and spent some time at our public library. Monday afternoon Daddy took Lillian hunting and Logan, Savannah, and I stayed home and just chilled. Tuesday we had a full day of school.  We got in every subject!  We had art today and they each worked on their own personal projects. Tuesday Lillian had a science project.  She made an aquifer to show how groundwater is held underneath the topsoil. Savannah is still not loving Math this year, and she is a gifted Math student, so we have to figure out what to do next.  Lillian is doing really well with her Dyslexia therapy, she is making good progress. Wednesday we had a field trip to a Pumpkin Patch with our homesc...

A look at our schedule

This is our schedule for this year.  We try to be at school by 9am and we try to finish by 3pm.  We follow a plan every day, if we don't, we get completely off track and do not accomplish much.  Every weekend I look at the upcoming week and see which days we will need to be out of the house, or if their is a project we need to work on. I do not allot a certain amount of time per subject, we just work on them until assignments are completed.  Everyone works on the same subject at the same time in the mornings to help me out.  That way my brain doesn't have to jump between both subjects and grade levels! 9-12    Bible             Weather, Geography, Art, Health, Nature Study (We only pick one of these a day)             Math             Language Arts        ...

Week 10

It has been a busy week! Sunday evening at church my kids participated in a impromptu singing. Savannah also found this leaf with eggs on it some time Sunday.  She wanted to keep it in a jar to see what hatched out of the eggs. I told her sure.  Later in the week she came to me and told me she had put the leaf in a jar, but forgot to put a lid on it, all the eggs had hatched. So, somewhere in my daughters' bedroom is the inhabitants of these eggs. 👀 Monday we started our day off helping with a 4H program held at a local nursing home. We helped with fresh flower arrangements.  Everyone helped make and arrangements to decorate the residents' dining hall, and we also put one in Nana's bedroom.  Monday afternoon we had some friends over.  The girls did girl things, they made doterra bath salts and danced to the music of moana.  The boys did boy things, they played Bible Battles and did a little sword fighting.  Everyone had a good time...
