Summer School 2020- Week 7
Ok, I know last week I said we were going to dive back into school full time this week....but it didn't happen.
We did work a little bit in a couple of the pace packs, I let everyone choose what they wanted to start on. There was a little Science, a little English, a little Math, and a little Reading.
Logan took an online class on the history of Rock N Roll.
There were three doctor appointments this week. Plus a run to the pharmacy, and I still haven't been able to get one medicine.
There was a vet appointment and next day pickup for one of our dogs.
We celebrated Papa's Birthday.
I had to take care of some online volunteer stuff and get signed up for some teacher in-service.
We got to have a zoom meeting with new friends! Was great to get to socialize a little!
We had a sewing day, the girls and I worked on mask making with Meme. Logan worked on his leather working while Papa did some engraving.
I have to be honest here, tempers are short around here these days, people aren't feeling great, loneliness is setting in, it's hard to get along. We needed a change.
We took a road trip after one of the appointments. We are starting American History this year in the 1800's. So, we started our trip on Baseline Road in Little Rock and went all the way to the marker for the Louisiana Purchase. We stopped at some Civil War battle sights, some prairie museums and looked at their outside exhibits, and saw the Arkansas River and the White River. We also saw the Arkansas agriculture in the delta area, thousands of acreas of corn, rice, soy bean, and cotton. We saw the Riceland Rice factory too. It was a great trip, we enjoyed getting out and seeing new things. Get ready for a lot of pics!
Savannah and I are very excited today because when Shane and I went to Save A Lot to pick up our can goods for the month, I found split peas! We have been looking for some for about 6 months, we have really been wanting some split pea soup! It's the little things, right??
Our family goal for this next week is to get back into the word of God as a family. We have been neglecting that, and I have a pretty good feeling that is the cause of a lot of our attitude problems.
I've also decided to turn our laundry room/freezer room into a classroom. Our outside freezer/pantry room is finished now so I can move a lot of this out there..
So those are the plans for next week, so maybe full time school the next week.
