20/21 School Year- Week 9
A week when a long time prayer was answered!
School was really busy this week. While we were home we worked very hard to get all our subjects done and learned. I did not take great notes because we were very rushed again this week. I hope this does not become a pattern again this year!
We have been praying for horses for many years now. We have bought several that did not work out. They were sold to us as great children's horses, but were absolutely not. I had all but given up on getting any, I had even sold a lot of my saddles and tack.
Then the Lord sent us on a volunteer project out at the Runnin WJ Ranch. We really just had a great time and decided to volunteer on a semi permanent basis. Well, it turns out they had a couple of horses that needed a new home.
So a lot of this week was spent meeting with the equine manager there, filling out paperwork, proving we had a place for them, going back and picking them up. Once we got them home, we have been getting to know them, letting them get to know us, brushing them, feeding them, and walking them around the place. We are all very quickly falling in love with them, we feel so blessed that they get to be a part of our family now. My God is Awesome!
In school this week:
I have really felt that I needed to change our together bible study, so now instead of Matthew, we are studying end times and Revelation of John. I just felt with all the talk about it, we needed to talk about it as a family. We studied Tim LaHaye's book about end times and went over his time line.
Savannah had ASL class two times and worked on learning new signs.
Logan went to take his driver's test, but did not pass it. So he has been studying more. ( The lady really got him nervous and messed up so I feel certain he will do better next time.)
Lillian has been studying her book on taking care of babies. She really wants to babysit when she gets older.
We did one assignment in Write Shop this week. We learned about adding in descriptive words to paragraphs to make them more visual for the readers.
Everyone worked in the PACE booklets this week. We also did one day of history. We discussed the Progressive Era of American History.
The kids have also prepared most of the meals this week as part of their home economics class. This week Lillian was responsible for breakfast, Savannah for lunch, and Logan for supper. It has been so nice to get a break from having to constantly think about or prepare meals!
The kids and I got our flu shots this week, and Savannah had to get a couple of booster shots. The kids had online youth church Wednesday night.
I have been very busy all week getting ready for Fall co-op. I am the co-op director this year, so getting everything organized has been challenging. It starts next Friday!
It was overall a great week.
