Fall temperatures have arrived!! We have really enjoyed the weather this week and spent as much time as possible outside.
In school:
History: We discussed Joseph and his life in Egypt. Then we had our test over the time period between Abraham and Joseph. We then discussed Hammurabi and the Israelite captivity in Egypt.
Science: We started the week with a test over the first unit. We then discussed the days of creation and the flood. We really focused on the effects the flood would have had on the Earth. Savannah also did a water skin project. She also made a igneous rock from starburst in her science co-op class this week. Logan made a tornado in a bottle in his science co-op class and discussed the aftermath of tornadoes. Lillian is learning about ocean life in her science co-op class.
Language Arts: There was lots of reading this week for everyone. They also all completed three lessons in their curriculums. Logan is working on a book report of "The Illiad."
Math: Everyone continued on in their lessons.
Psychology and Photography: Logan just continued on in his lessons.
Music: Logan has played his instruments as he could this week. Savannah did one day of lessons on the piano.
Art: Lillian completed several pieces of artwork in her "Fall into Crafts" co-op class.
Poetry: We finally started our poetry lessons! We are learning about Alfred Lord Tennyson first.
In other happenings:
Sunday we were not all feeling great so we stayed home from church. We had home church, Dad led us in a Bible study on Daniel. Then the kids watched the Daniel episode of Sheep Snacks.
Monday was a beautiful day. We did most of our school outside. Then just enjoyed the evening.
Tuesday we had a 4H meeting. We went on a wagon tour of the blackland prairie wma. We have taken this tour before, but we always learn something and enjoy it. The kids also got in the canoe and posed for pics for one of the educators.
After 4H we went to our first Trap event of the school year. This year we are going to be able to participate in trap with a group of other homeschoolers!! We are very excited about this!
Wednesday Dad went to church business meeting. I wasn't feeling great so I stayed home with the kids. We sat around the fire and went star gazing for meteors. Logan and I both saw a couple, the girls didn't.
Thursday we stayed home and enjoyed the weather. Logan helped me grill supper.
Friday was co-op classes in the morning. The kids and I are still loving co-op! I feel very blessed for our family to be a part of this group of like minded families. Friday afternoon we helped Dad around the yard and house with several projects.
Saturday was deer hunting and more outside projects!
It was a very blessed week.
