Week 18
Advent has begun! Our days have been full of all things Christmas!
We have had school as normal though.
History: We covered these famous characters in history this week; Amenhotep, Tutankhamen, Ramses II, all those involved in the Trojan war, Ruth, Naomi, and Gideon. I love how this curriculum gives us a great time line of historical events that includes bible facts, however I do wish it went a little bit more in depth.
Math: Everyone has just continued to work through their lessons.
Language Arts: Everyone still trucking along here as well. Everyone is about to finish some things up in language arts and will be starting some new things after Christmas break. Everyone has been reading their library books as well.
Read Aloud: We are still enjoying "The Westing Game.". It is kinda tough to follow as a read aloud, but we are enjoying it.
PE: We had one day at the gym. Logan had two days of therapy. The kids also played quite a bit on the church playground this week. They've gotten to enjoy lots of time outside this week at home as well, the weather has been wonderful.
Art: Everyone did a free drawing of what Christmas means to them. I didn't get a picture though. We also decorated gingerbread houses.
Home Ec: Lillian made and decorated cupcakes.
Other things this week:
Church
Church float building
Riding the float in the Christmas Parade, we won 3rd place!
Meeting with Logan's caseworker
Christmas play practice
I decorated the church for Christmas.
Dad's done lots of construction in Logan's room
My brother's birthday was this week also. I know he had a wonderful birthday in heaven. I can't wait to see him again.
Merry Christmas and God bless you!
