Week 19

Our Christmas Cactus is in full bloom.  It is so beautiful!

This week in school:

History: We covered these people in history this week; Samson, Zhou Dynasty, Samuel, Saul, David, Solomon, and the Phoenicians.

Science: We watched the following "How it's Made" videos; glass ornaments, fake Christmas trees, and candy canes.

Language Arts: We went to the library and checked out new books to read. Everyone continued on in their assignments.

Math: Everyone continued on.

PE: Two days at the gym with therapy.

Drama: Church Christmas play practice happened once, and we missed one practice.

Bible: We started a new bible study this week called "The King of Glory."

Shop class: Logan got to paint part of his room this week.

Easy Peasy: Logan completed 4 days this week and Savannah completed 2 days. Lillian wants to do some project based learning, so I'm going to be looking for her some projects for after Christmas break.

Read Aloud: We are still reading "The Westing Game."

In other happenings:

Logan had music.

Logan had a dentist appointment.

Dad and the girls went to a graduation and to Lowe's

Logan and I went Christmas shopping.

Logan went with a friend to Texarkana.

I took the girls and some of their friends to Texarkana.

Room remodeling

There is always so much I want to do at Christmas time, but it seems we never have time to fit it all in.  I've been quite overwhelmed this week due to the remodel (which hopefully is almost finished), trying to get to our stopping point in school so we can take a good holiday break, people's expectations of what they think I should be doing, and simply trying to balance house work, meal prep, doctor's appointments, tending to animals, Christmas shopping, family time, and life in general. One year I really want to figure out how to fit in time for hanging lights outside, making Christmas cookies and candies, making homemade ornaments, and Christmas caroling!
