Week 39
It has been a great week.
This week in school:
Read Aloud: We read about Peter the Hermit, The Crusades, The Black Knight, and Joan of Arc.
Math: Everyone completed three days of review math.
English: Everyone completed three days of their English review and did some reading.
History: We finished up our study of the Renaissance discussing clothing, art, science, entertainment, and the 100 Year War.
Science: We did not get to our chemistry experiments this week, but we have done lots of gardening. Plus our baby chicks arrived!
We also took our last field trip under our "having fun in Arkansas" theme. We went to the Lum and Abner store and museum. We had a great trip through the mountains to get there. It was closed due to covid 19, but we still enjoyed looking around outside. The kids even listened to an old Lum and Abner radio show.
Also, to wrap up our Renaissance study, we had a May Day Celebration Friday. We had a great day.
There was a bull born on the farm last week. We have decided to keep him and bring him over here when he is weening age. He is a beauty!
I started smelling honey suckle yesterday. So we took a walk down the road, and sure enough we found it blooming! Time for sweet summer nights to begin!
We only have one more week of school left!
