Sabbath Week; in which our plans go down the stream

We have been on Sabbath Week.  We were supposed to go camping this week.  We had it all planned out, groceries bought, camper cleaned and packed...then the rain started!

Monday, Shane was off for mid winter break. We cleaned up the yard and finished packing the camper.  We were supposed to have another Nerf Gun War day with our Homeschool friends, but it had rained so much over the weekend our yard was all mud.  Lillian finally found her a couple of mini lop bunnies.  I'm going to post a picture of the rabbit chart so you can see how big mini lops are, I was so surprised! Logan went to music that evening.

Tuesday was our day to head to the lake, we were so wanting to go. However, the weather prediction was rain and storms, so we decided to wait another day.  It rained on and off all day.  When it wasn't raining we worked in our butterfly garden. We did find lots of signs that spring is on the way, so that cheered us up a little. We also had a cat that decided she really wanted to be a flower, she sat in a flower pot I had gotten out for a long time! Tuesday evening I kept a friend's kiddos for a bit.

Wednesday I woke up sick. It was still raining. So we worked around the house, played video games, and watched some movies.

Thursday, still raining! I decided we were going to do something productive today.  We had discussed after our county fair last year that we would do one project a month leading up to fair time.  We had only accomplished getting our animals for fair so far.  So we did an art project to enter.  Lillian did a painting of a rabbit.  She drew the picture and then painted it.  I then used the cricket cutter to make her words and she glued them on. Savannah did a collage on dogs.  She worked really hard finding enough pictures in the magazines we had on hand.  Logan thought really hard on his project.  He first wanted to do a painting of fruits and vegetables, but as he was looking through magazines to get ideas, his planned morphed into a Sunday Dinner collage. He used an apple stamp to make a table cloth design on his board, then set the table with all sorts of wonderful food. I think the ending projects all turned out great!

Friday, still raining. We had then given up completely on getting to go camping.  The lake even had to close in spots for flooding.  The creeks and rivers are all getting out of their banks. We once again decided to try and make the best of another dreary day.  Lillian cooked breakfast.  Savannah cooked lunch.  Logan used the time to read and look through his card collection.  He even played a card game with Lillian.  After lunch we went and picked up animal feed and went to the library.  After that we went to archery practice. We stopped at a new to us diner on the way home for supper.  It was fabulous!

Saturday we were supposed to go shoot trap with 4H and have an archery tournament. But guess what, it was still raining! And there were severe storms moving through the area. So we just went to archery since it is all indoors.  Both my kiddos did a great job!

Even though our Sabbath Week went nothing as planned, it was still a good week.  We rested, got some projects done, and had fun.  I am ready to get back to school.  Our new math curriculum looks like it is going to work, so I'm ready to give it a try. I hope you all had a blessed week.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.
