Week 24

Winter at the lake

This week did not go as planned.  It was frustrating, but it was still a week full of learning. Even though I was frustrated that it didn't go as I planned, I know we accomplished a lot, so I can find joy in that.

Monday we were able to get quite a bit of school work done.   We continued on with our new Bible History.  So far we like it, but it is a lot of information.  It takes us a while to get through each chapter.  In science we discussed the power of friction on objects in motion, and we did a friction experiment.  We continued on in math and language arts.

Tuesday we did not get much school work done.  Everyone took a test in math.  I did a lot of cleaning and organizing, trying to get cleaned up after the remodeling.

Wednesday we had to wait at the store for a shipment.  So, we finished our read aloud, The Girl Who Survived.  Then the kids all worked on their WWII projects.

Thursday we did Kitchen Chemistry.  Lillian made breakfast, cream of wheat.  I did not get any pictures of Lillian cooking.  Logan made cake mix cookies.  Savannah cooked hamburger helper for supper.  We also worked throughout the day on bible history, math, and language arts.

Friday we had our STEM class at Grandview.  We participated in a program on birds of prey.  We got to see a live owl.  Then we dissected owl pellets and did a few sticker pages on ecosystems.

In other happenings this week:

Monday night was music and taekwondo night.  We got our Taekwondo tournament schedule, so we will be preparing for those.  Monday we also received our archery tournament schedule.

Tuesday night Shane and I painted and stained most of the night trying to finish up on the remodel.  Getting so close!

Wednesday the girls had Kid's Club and then we had church potluck and Wednesday night bible study.

Thursday we stayed home and worked on laying new flooring in the bathroom.

Friday evening we stopped by the lake and let the girls roller skate for awhile.  Logan and I visited while they skated.  Then we went to archery.

Saturday we had our monthly 4H Sharp Shooters meeting.  We worked on fur and track identification.  Each participant made some animal track molds to take home.  Then we played in the snow!!  It only snowed for a little while, but we all loved getting to see some snow flurries!  Saturday evening Shane had a trap coach meeting at the range and we got our trap tournament schedule.

I hope you all had a great week.
