Week 28-I believe in love

This has been a relatively quiet week.  Those are good weeks!

In school this week:

Bible: We finished disc one of The Gospels and started disc two.  You just have to love Dave Stotts and Drive Through History, we laugh so much!

Science: My family's love for wildlife is just amazing.  After every episode they are wanting to try and bring that critter home! We have learned about Giant Pandas, wolves, foxes, dolphins, and sharks. (a favorite movie in the house right now is Soul Surfer, so I wasn't sure how the shark episode would go..but they were ready to go swimming with them by the end of it!)

History: We finished up our Cooking up History course.  We learned really neat things about John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. We made apple pan dowdy one day.  We will be making homemade mac and cheese and ice cream after grocery shopping. Who doesn't love trying new homemade food!

Math: Everyone took several test this week. No one loves math in our home.  But I do love that we can slow down and work more in certain areas when we need too. This is a wonderful aspect of homeschooling.

Language Arts: Everyone is just working right on through their lessons.  I love it when curriculum works well! Language arts is definitely a strength in our home.

Art: We finished our origami.  We love it that we don't have to try it anymore!

In other events this week:

Sunday we celebrated Dad's birthday. We all love him!

Monday was music night.  We love all our music friends and family!  Lillian will be joining us on music nights now. Logan has been teaching her to play the mandolin.

Tuesday was a stay home day! Love it!

Wednesday was trap practice. We love that this is a sport we can do without having to attend public school. Plus, it is pretty cool, and lots of fun.

Thursday was a stay at home day! Love it more!

Friday was a stay at home day, other than a few farm chores. Love it!

Saturday was our 4H Sharp Shooters meeting.  We talked about survival skills and made the first part of a survival kit, fire starters.  Then we had a fire starting race, who ever made the best fire, that popped the balloon first, won.  It was a ton of fun.  Everyone loved it!  Then we practiced archery.

In other news this week was Valentine's Day.  We gave each other cards and gifts. Loved on each other. Plus, our babies were born!  Sky delivered three healthy beautiful baby kids. She had two boys and one girl.  We are keeping a close eye on them.  The internet says she can successfully raise three, some people I've talked to says she will only raise two.  At one point today we thought she had shunned one, but later on he was nursing again. We love how cute they are!

Ok, I wasn't trying to be exceptionally cheesey with all the love. I just wanted to remind myself and my children how blessed we are, how much we have to be thankful for, and how many things we have to be happy about! Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's week.
