Homeschool Week 3

I have to say that I am very pleased so far with all of our curriculum choices this year.
One of the really neat things about this year is that all the subjects seem to really go together and follow the same chronological path. We have really enjoyed learning all sorts of things in correlation with a specific time period.

I also love that it all teaches biblical truth and how to stand firm in your beliefs (backed by scientific discovery). I feel confident the children will be able to defend their beliefs to a secular scientist or future professor.

This week in school:

History: We discussed dinosaurs, their creation, lives, and extinction. We discussed Noah and the flood and examined research that confirms. We also learned about the Ice Age and watched a cool video about it.  We did our note cards and timeline figures as well.

Science: We discussed what it means exactly to be a creation scientist, learned about the creation model, and discussed the many Christian scientist that are proving the bible accurate daily.  Lillian also worked in her Human body science and completed a body systems wheel.

Language: Everyone worked on their individual lessons. They completed two free writings and two assignments in their workbooks.

Math: Everyone worked on their lessons.  Everyone completed four lessons. Lillian made a Mrs. Gallon.

Savannah worked on typing.

Lillian worked on some drawings in art.

Logan continued in his photography and psychology.

Lillian finished reading Sarah Noble to us.

I finished reading Lord Fauntelroy to everyone.

I started reading School in the Parlor to everyone.

In other happenings:

Sunday was church and Lillian started feeling bad.

Monday Lillian was supposed to go to a cupcake decorating workshop. However since she was feeling bad she didn't.  So Dad came to her rescue and made her some homemade icing. She made some cupcakes.  Then we dug out our old decorating tips and showed the children how to use them. We all decorated several cupcakes. They were beautiful! (And delicious 😋)

Tuesday Dad and Savannah went and bought a new to us truck. Dad's was in bad shape!

Wednesday was church potluck and bible study.

Friday Meme, Papa and Logan went to Little Rock for an appointment to get repairs on his leg brace. The girls and I ran errands here and in Texarkana. We all had a good day.

Saturday Logan went and worked on a community service project all morning with one of our friends.  They painted stripes on a parking lot.

I hope you all had a blessed week!
