Homeschool Year 2019/2020 Week 1

Woohoo! We are back to school.  I'm so glad to have everyone back somewhat on a schedule.  I always try to make our first week as fun as possible.

Sunday was church and a Back to School party/game day.

After that we went to check out a campground that is near Dad's new job.  We really liked it.  Hopefully we will get to go camping there soon.

Monday was our "Not back to school" fun day.  The kids and I went to the movies.  We were the only ones in our theatre! That is one of the really cool things about homeschooling, you get to go places when everyone else is busy! We also went to the library. Monday night was music.

Tuesday we worked on getting all our binders made for our subjects.  Lillian started reading aloud to us "The Courage of Sarah Noble." I stared reading aloud "Little Lord Fauntelroy." Everyone also worked on multiplication facts and did a little bit of writing.

Wednesday we continued with multiplication facts, and everyone wrote a short story from their creative writing curriculums. I think the creative writing assignments are going to be fun this year. They also designed some hexbug robots and had several duals! Wednesday evening Meme and Papa took the kids to potluck and bible study. Dad and I went to decorate his new classroom.

Thursday we continued multiplication facts and we did a little bit of Arkansas History.  I wanted to do some fun review of Arkansas facts before we really got into our "Having fun in Arkansas" theme.

Friday, Meme, the kids, and I left early for our first Arkansas themed field trip.  We visited the Toltec Mounds in Scott, Arkansas. While we were there, we also visited the Arkansas River. It was pretty neat! The rest of the day was spent at doctor's appointments. We got home pretty late.

Saturday morning was our Church's fishing derby.  Logan had planned on attending, but he was still pretty tired from Friday, so he opted to stay home.  The girls attended a birthday party.  It was an American Girl themed party and they made these super cute little popcorn bags for their dolls!!  The rest of the day we spent getting ready for Lillian's back to school splash party she is hosting tomorrow.

It was a good first week. I'm looking forward to this year. I'm excited to see where God leads us.
