Week 5

For some reason I had a lot of anxiety this week. I'm not sure why, looking back over the week, it was just a normal week.  But I could feel the anxiety non the less.

One thing that was different from years past was the fair.  We have participated in our county fair in some form or fashion for the last 9 years. We decided not to this year.  There were just other things that we wanted to give more attention to this year. I am so glad we did! For one reason, it has been so hot! For another reason, we were really blessed by the opportunities we took in place of fair chaos!!

This week in school:

History: We set Mystery of History to the side and dug a little deeper into ancient civilizations.  We discussed the Sumerians and Egyptians a little more and did a few Egypt projects.

Science: In Creation Science we discussed species names.  We did this quite in depth last year, so we didn't spend a ton of time on it.  Logan and Savannah found scientific names for a list of plants and animals.  Lillian researched a specific animal and plant.  Logan took his second test in Biology 101.

Language Arts: Everyone worked through their lessons and free writing exercises. Savannah and Lillian are both also working on writing a book each.

Math: Lessons just proceeded as normal. With lots of me having to try and remember how to do algebra or ask Dad for help.

We did not get to work on the girls sewing much at all this week.  Hopefully next week we can.

Savannah did get to work with her Movie Maker some.

In other happenings:

Monday was labor day.  Dad was off and home with us. Dad worked on the barn with Papa and we had school.  We did invite meme and papa over and had a big hot dog lunch. There was no music.

Wednesday was church potluck and bible study. We also went to the library.

Thursday we attended our first homeschool group event of the year! We enjoyed it very much! I so enjoy this group of like minded families! We were a little overwhelmed by all the great extracurricular activities that will be available to our kids this year. Lillian was a little bummed because the one she really wants to do, she has to be 12, so a few more years of waiting. I'm in no hurry for her to grow up though! I even won a door prize!

Friday was family game night. Savannah's new trap gun came in also.

Saturday we spent the day at a gun show for our business.  We also went and had a little fun in the city as a family.

Hope y'all had a blessed week!
