Week 8

We had a very busy week!

This week in school:

History: We did not do any history this week.

Science: Lillian studied more about the skeletal system. Logan and Savannah did not do any formal science this week at home.

Math: Lillian took her next test and worked through her next Pace. Logan worked through his next few lessons in math and so did Savannah.

Language: Logan is working on reading The Illiad and he had a free writing assignment.  Savannah did two lessons in IEW and one free writing assignment. She is also still writing her own novel. Lillian worked through several lessons in Explode the Code and penmanship. She also took several reading comprehension tests this week.

Photography and Psychology: Logan completed two modules in Psychology. He read one chapter in photography, but has not turned in his photos yet for the week.

Fashion: I've been looking for ways to inspire my girls to dress fashionably yet conservative as they get older. I came across a book by Candace Cameron Burr that has been perfect. They love the book, and I do too! She is a great Christian inspiration for them. I hope to find more books in the future from different Christian Actresses.  Savannah and Lillian have both been trying out some new cute ideas this week.

Music: Logan and Lillian had music lessons on Monday. We finally found Lillian a used mandolin, but it turns out it can't be repaired to use. It really ruffles my feathers when people sell things they know are broken. We will keep looking.  Savannah has fallen behind in her piano, but we plan on fixing that this upcoming week.

Homeschool Group Co-op classes:

Lillian is taking two classes, Under the Sea and Fall into Crafts. She loved both classes and had a blast. She is my social butterfly and co-op classes are her favorite thing!

Savannah is also taking two classes, Rockin' with Rocks and God's Beautiful Girls.  This girl is finally coming out of her shell in group settings. She said she loves both classes and had funny stories to tell from both.

Logan also signed up for two classes, Storm Chasers and Clean up and a Debate class. He really enjoyed his classes, he is mostly excited about debate! He had fun stories from both classes too.

I am hosting Parent's Hour this fall. I was very nervous, but it turned out good. This is such a wonderful group of women! They are very encouraging and fun to be around.

The girls finished some puzzles this week.

Add in 3 doctor's appointments, church, a meeting with a new case manager for Logan, two days of trying to get all my new medication, and just normal household stuff and we were running all week!

It is all worth it though!

I'm still waiting on those cooler fall temps to get here!!
