Week 6

It has been a long week.  It was one of those weeks where everyone's energy levels were low, no one really wanted to do school, and we are all wanting a break from the scorching temperatures. Thank goodness for air conditioning!!

Nevertheless, school happened:

History: We discussed Stonehenge in England and American Stonehenge in New Hampshire. We built a circle in the yard using a rope and one person as a center. We set buckets up around the perimeter of the circle to kind of get an idea how one would start a perfect circle building project like Stonehenge.

We studied a bit more about Egypt and made mummies while discussing the grotesque methods!

We also studied about the Minoans, Crete, and minotaurs. We made our note cards and did our timeline activities as well.

Science:  I honestly can not remember what we did in Creation Science, I forgot to write it down.  Lillian worked on the skeletal system this week.

Savannah did two chemistry experiments, oil and water and blowing a balloon up with a chemical reaction.

Math: Lillian finished a Pace booklet and took a test.  Logan just kept working through his lessons.  Savannah started learning about graphing points.

Language Arts: Logan wrote a paper on Job. Savannah is still writing her book and she did one lesson in IEW.  Lillian worked through several pages of Explode the Code and her penmanship.

Photography and Psychology: Logan is still working through both of these subjects. He really enjoys what he is learning about Psychology and really enjoys this curriculum.  He has not really taken off in photography yet, but each week his photos are a bit better, so I think he is finding his way.

In other happenings:

Monday was music.

Tuesday and Wednesday we spent doing household chores that needed done. I always feel behind in my housework!

Thursday morning we got up early and went to Oklahoma with Meme. We visited my grandma and two uncles. Then we went to visit my Aunt who also homeschools. I was so jealous of her classroom! The kids played and we visited. It was a good trip. We should make the trip more often.

Friday I was pretty sick, so instead of game night we watched a few episodes of Full House.

Saturday Lillian and I went clothes shopping.  She had a growth spurt overnight I guess and needed new clothes!

God Bless!
