Week 23- New Year, New School Plan

Our new school plan is in place, and seemed to work really well this first week.  Here is what our school week looks like now.

Lillian's new curriculum

Monday through Thursday each child is on their own schedule, doing their own individual work.  Logan and Savannah are on the computer doing school with the Easy Peasy All in One Homeschool program for their grades. I am available to them whenever they need help with anything.  I teach Lillian each of her subjects and then she works on her work, with me also available to her if she needs anything.

Friday will be used for group art, Drive Thru History dvd lessons, King of Glory dvd lessons, board game school, group biology, or other fun activities.

I'm going to try and keep a more detailed account of what each child does each week.  Here is what they accomplished this week.

Read Aloud:

We finished "The Westing Game" over break, it ended well and we all enjoyed it. We started a non-fiction book for our first read aloud of the new year. We are reading "Peter Stuyvesant, the Boy in Wooden Shoes." So far, everyone loves it. Dad picked this one out for us, so it's a win.

Friday School:

We watched an episode of Drive Thru History, Lost in Rome.

We watched an episode of King of Glory, introduction and days of creation.

We played snakes and ladders and learned the history of the game, it originated from Ancient India, who knew!

For art we did cave drawings and sketching our favorite Sonic the Hedgehog character.

The kids and I did not leave the house but once this week, to get groceries and animal feed.  It has been so very nice!!

We did have a meeting with Logan's case worker this week.  The rest of the time has just been spent on chores that needed catching up on, getting over some illness, and preparing for the bad weather we had last night!

I did find these art books to add to our collection of project ideas this week.  Two of them I got free from the library and the other one I got for $4 on thrift books!

Dad and Papa got our driveway entrance finished this week.  It looks really nice.
