Week 25
We seem to have a case of the winter blues around here this week. We have been dealing with lots of sickness. We have not had any snow, just lots of cold rain!
We did manage to accomplish some school this week:
Logan:
Math: distributive property, domain and range
Language Arts: Tom Sawyer, vocabulary words
Foundations: alertness, procrastination, time management
Thinking: Chess lessons
Bible: Joseph
History: Acts and Paul
Biology:biotic and abiotic
Health: articles on health topics
Home Ec: Logan prepared supper for us one night. He made Baby back ribs and steak fries.
Savannah:
Math: adding and subtracting negative decimals, fractions
Language: Marriage of Geraint, vocabulary words
Bible: Matthew
Biology: Body systems tests
History: translations of ancient languages, Hammurabi laws
Lillian:
Math: adding and subtracting multiple digit numbers
Language Arts: reading comprehension, oral narration, rewriting of a story in own words, proper nouns
Science: nervous system, muscular system, skeleton system
History: Chinese goddess of the silkworm
Art: warm and cool colors
Read Aloud: We started a new read aloud this week called "The Tinkers Armour."
Library: Everyone checked out new books to read for enjoyment. Savannah found a lot of books on the free table this week about becoming an author. Logan found one about the stock market.
Friday school:
Drive thru History: We finished the series on Rome.
King of Glory: We watched episodes on the fall of Satan and his angels and Adam and Eve being cast out of the garden.
Art: The kids designed fairy gardens.
Board game: Dad and the kids played a game of Sorry.
The only other things we did this week were set up the trampoline and I made some pumpkin preserves. We spent the rest of our time just trying to get well.
