Week 27- Not the typical school week

This week was a bit different for us. We got a lot of learning in, but not so much with our paper curriculums.

Each of my children worked on their Math lessons and their reading lessons this week. They did not do any other "book work." They each finished three lessons in each, math was review work.

Here are some of the other things we did this week.

The kids played the game of Chess and the game of Clue with their grandparents while I took dad to an appointment. They also played a Hatchimal card game one day.

Savannah took over the kitchen one day to make a couple of different types of slime.

Lillian and Savannah both "grew" an animal this week.

We had a long meeting with Logan's case worker.

We all went to the plant nursery to spend a gift certificate. We looked at all the different plants and determined what would be best for us.  We ended up getting a fig tree, two climbing flowers, and two pampas grass plants.

We have continued our read aloud of "The Tinker's Armor."

We spent some time at the library getting new books.

Savannah had trap practice one day.

Dad and Logan went to Hot Springs for a orthodontist appointment. They got to see snow!!

We also went to the lake for a wonderful picnic lunch with meme and Papa one day.

We went to a wonderful homeschool group event this week. We learned all about every day life for a soldier and a woman at home during the civil war. The girls even got to learn some neat ballroom dances!! We had a great time.

I finally got Raggedy Ann's face painted on. I thought it turned out pretty good for my first painted doll face!

Lastly we spent Saturday planting all our new plants, moving some other plants around, trimming up around some trees, and getting our outdoor lights strung.

It was a wonderfully fulfilling week. It felt so wonderful getting to spend some time outside. Especially since it is supposed to rain for the next 5 days!
