Week 35- covid 19 life

To say the least, things have been very different with the covid 19 self quarantine we have going on. I keep expecting the news to get better, but so far it is still getting worse.

We are constantly looking for the positive in the situation. With spring coming, it's pretty easy to find beauty.

School is looking different for us too. We are trying to spend as much time outside in the sunshine as possible. It has been so rainy! Dad's home too, we find out Monday how long he will be home. Then we will determine what the rest of school year will look like.

Here is what we did in school this week:

Read Aloud: We finished "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow."

History: We finished "Mystery of History Vol. 1". We ended with the resurrection of Jesus. It was a pretty good study, but I don't think I will get Vol 2. We still have a few timeline figures to add.

We also finished our Drive Thru History series on ancient history

Science: Our Mel Science Chemistry kit arrived. So the kids did two experiments, they grew a snake and made an explosion using different chemical reactions.

We finished Biology 101, we ended the series discussing genetics.

King of Glory: We also finished this series, it ended as well with Jesus' resurrection.

Math: Logan and Savannah are continuing in their PACE packs. Lillian is continuing with her Rod and Staff math. Everyone seems to be doing pretty well.

English: Logan started a new lit book called Discoveries.  He reads a selection of literature and then answers questions about the passage.

Savannah started a similar lit book called A Time to Build. She reads a story and then answers questions.

Lillian still is working on her same English course, but also started Explode the Code 5 1/2.

Art: Both girls did an art project. Savannah made a dream catcher, Lillian made a glitter box picture. These came in their Annie's Creative Girl kit. They had fun making their projects.

Video Courses: Lillian took a class on zoom this week. She had fun, but would rather be in class with her friends. Her class is on story books and famous stories from different perspectives.

In other happenings this week:

We are still attending church online.

Wednesday we had been quarantined 14 days, and so had my parents. So, we went to see them and had a hot dog cookout. It was so good to visit with them. Now we are back in quarantine until Easter.

We have also done quite a bit of stream fishing. We have had fun catching these little guys are releasing them.

Shifu has been riding with us on the mule while we are building fences. Well, actually while Dad builds fences and I mainly just watch.
