Week 22 in which life happens
I went back and forth trying to decide to or not to take this week off from school. I ultimately decided to not do any formal school since we had all been so sick over the break. I didn't make any plans, which is very unlike me, but it ended up being a great week. We all finished recovering from sickness and just had a stress free week. I also did not take many pictures this week.
Monday was New year's day. We were still in recovery mode this day. We didn't do much.
Tuesday Shane worked on installing our dishwasher some more. We all were feeling much better. So we cleaned and cooked and watched TV.
Wednesday we went to Little Rock. Logan needs a new prosthetic leg. Our prosthetic guy turned one appointment into two appointments, so we don't have to go back for a fitting. It did make a long day though. While we were waiting for the fitting part we went across the road to the mall. The kids had Christmas money they wanted to spend. The girls found a "build a bear" store. They never have done that, so they chose to each make a bear. Logan decided to keep saving his money, he is wanting to buy a new bow for his fiddle. We finished up with the appointment and started home. We got home pretty late.
Thursday we did some grocery shopping and finished installing the dishwasher!! We were very excited to use it for the first time! The girls went over to some friends house and played for several hours. We also rearranged furniture and got the house put back together.
Friday we went to Art class, but we ended up not having art class. The kids all played and Ruth and I talked about things we want to do next month so I can get the Homeschool group email sent out. We had a good visit and hopefully some good ideas for next month. After class Logan had a doctor's appointment since he was still not feeling great. We then ran home and got the house ready for some friends that came over for dinner. Our friend made smoked ribs for us, they were wonderful! The kids played with Nerf guns and video games.
Saturday our Homeschool group had a class at a local WMA. They discussed winter birds. We all learned something new, flyways. They are like interstates for birds, their migration patterns. I never knew they were divided up that way. They also discussed food and habitat. We then each got to make a bird house from a gourd.
After class we came home for a little while and then went and had supper with my parents and some friends. We had a great time and hope we get to do it again!
Sunday we went to church, it was so good to be back! Logan is on a trip with his youth group from the other church. We are ready to get back on schedule, but we enjoyed the week of no stress!
