Update: Raised Bed Garden and Self Sufficincy

I just wanted to post a few pictures of how our raised bed garden is doing, and about our progress towards self sufficincy.

The corn is almost as tall as me now!

The Chinese Eggplant has tiny eggplants on it, and the cucumber
plants are vining really well and covered in blooms.

The tomotoe plants have lots of green tomatoes!!
Potatoes have stopped growing,
but still haven't bloomed.

Pepper plants are getting big,
but no sign of peppers.

The lettuce didn't grow very well, but we have
been able to have some fresh lettuce.

Broccoli plants have stopped growing,
but no sign of any broccoli.

The raddish plants grew great, but they are not forming any raddish
and some of the plants have already gone to seed.
The carrots came up very sparingly, not sure if we will
get any carrots in the end.

The cotton in front is getting
taken over by grass. The quinoa
is growing really well.

On to self sufficiny and homesteading, this is what we have growing...

Elderberries

Plums
Pears
Peaches
Apples

Blueberries

Grapes
Savannah also has some nice herbs growing.  She has basil, oregano, and mint.

I think we are making great progress.  Our next stage is animals.  We are going to work on building fences and homes for more farm animals to help provide for our needs.

And just in case anyone was wondering, ants can kill a tree.  We lost a plum tree completely to ants.
