Week 39-Wrapping Things Up
The school year is almost over y'all! Every year goes by fast, but this year really has flown by! We wrapped up lots of things this week. We still have a few things to finish up for the year.
Monday we went bowling with some friends and out to lunch. Kids bowl free has officially started for the summer and we are going to try and use our passes more than in the past. We had a great time. Monday afternoon Logan and Savannah had 4H officer training and then I had 4H leader training.
Tuesday morning Logan and Savannah practiced one more time for their BBQ competition. Tuesday afternoon we had to go gather up supplies for some projects the kids had to complete. Logan had trap practice in the afternoon.
Wednesday the kids put finishing touches on some 4H posters, then we went to turn them in. They all had music lessons with their new teacher. Then Logan had therapy. We came home and spent the rest of the evening packing up the surburban for district BBQ cook-off with 4H.
Thursday we were up at dawn and on the road. I had to have a root canal really early in the morning!! Once my appointment was over we headed to the town the district competition was going to be held. We had lunch, played at the local park, and did some window shopping. Then it was time for the competition to start. The kids did great! It stormed like crazy, but they still did great! Logan placed 11th and Savannah placed 10th out of 26 contestants. The girls met another homeschooler from another county and had fun talking with her. We got home really late!
Friday we were up and out the door early again. Logan had a regional trap tournament. The girls stayed with Meme and Papa. Savannah worked on sewing a dress for a 4H competition. She did an amazing job for her first dress! She is going to be really great at sewing if she stickes with it! Lillian worked with her Papa and colored. Logan's team did not score high enough to go on to state, but I'm really proud of them! They all did a great job for their first real tournament! Logan was the high point scorer for his team!! They have had an awesome year, and I know next year will be even better!
Lillian has been such a good sport this year. She isn't quite old enough to compete in things, and that really bums her out some days. She is such a joy to have around! Her day will come, all to quickly for this mama bear!
I hope you all had a blessed week. God bless!
