Week 40- Putting a bow on it
Our last official week of the school year was very productive. I'm glad it is over for awhile. We all are ready for some summer fun!
Monday we had our last Home Ec morning. We didn't do anything fancy, we worked on catching up with household chores. Monday afternoon we finished up our read aloud book and our God's World book. The kids finished and presented their final book report of the year. We also finished Kirsten in American History. Monday evening Lillian cooked supper for us on the grill.
Tuesday morning we finished up our overview of the human body and our major body ststems. We will study each system more in depth next year. We started Addi in American History. We will be continuing with her over the summer. Her story takes place during the Civil War. We will be touring all the Arkansas Civil War Historic Parks over the summer that we can fit in! Tuesday evening Savannah cooked supper for us.
Wednesday Logan had therapy in the morning. We went to the park for a picnic lunch and some PE on the walking trails. We went to music lessons. That evening Dad wasn't feeling well, so we all stayed home from church.
Thursday we went over to Meme and Papa's. Meme helped Lillian on her 4H project. Lillian is making a beautiful skirt, she is going to wear it to recital next week and enter it in the fair. Logan worked on his 4H project for district, he is working on learning Arkansas crops and weeds. Savannah spent most of her time there reading. Thursday afternoon we had a 4H meeting. Logan got in some leadership time helping the younger kids with their projects.
Friday we had a trip to Hot Springs. Logan had two different doctors' appointments. We also picked up a pattern for Savannah to use to make her dress for recital and her 4H district competition.
Today I have been working on our summer schedule. I have found that we do much better as a family if we stay on some sort of schedule through the summer. It isn't as detailed as our school year schedule. We will continue working some on Math and Language Arts through the summer. We will also do a field trip unit on the Civil War.
I'll be sharing soon our plans/schedule for the summer. Hope you all remembered to praise God this week for a blessing!
