Summer Weeks 11 and 12
Guys I just can't hardly believe summer is over. This has been probably the busiest summer we have ever had. I don't really feel that we got any rest this summer! It was a great summer though, we accomplished a lot around the house, took several family trips, and the kids had lots of summer social events and learning activities.
The last two weeks are kinda a blur, but here are the highlights!
The summer reading program finished up with lots of prizes and singing and tooth fairies. The girls really liked going and Logan enjoyed his first volunteer opportunity.
Logan is still going to the teen reading club, his assignment this week was to design a guitar based on a book. He chose to decorate his guitar with ideas from The Chronicles of Narnia.
Logan also went fishing with his grandparents and he had another day of trap shooting at the range with dad.
The girls had a 4H meeting. They each gave a talk on pet care, Lillian talked about caring for her horse and Savannah talked about caring for her calf. They then made homemade dog treats. Both girls loved this meeting, it will go down as a favorite!
Lillian had a cloverbud day event. She got to make smoothies, make a green house, and make a stick horse. At each station they had a lesson on healthy living through foods and exercise. She had a blast!
My class at church had a back to school party. They wanted a water party! We had water play, food, cupcakes and ice cream. It was fun and simple!
Some other things that happened that I did not get any pictures of were: Taekwondo, piano, fiddle, freezing lots of pumpkin, remodel work to our camper, clothes shopping with Meme, visiting friends at a supper party, homeschool planning meeting, and a dentist appointment. (Now you can see why it was a blur!)
I'm going to spend the next few days trying to get ready mentally for the school year. I need to spend time in prayer. I need to finish gathering supplies. I need to get the house in order and our school areas ready. We start back Monday!!
