Week 1-and so it begins
I'm so proud of my children. They are growing up so fast, they are turning into such lovely young people. I enjoy every minute I get to spend with them. Here are our first week of school pictures.
Here is a picture of our classroom for this year. It is probably a pretty typical home school setting. For us, it will be quite different. We have always had a separate room just for our classroom with desks, posters on the wall, timelines, number charts, etc. Last year our classroom was in a separate building from our house, it didn't work so well. It took lots and lots of thinning down, but we finally got our essentials moved to our living room.
We spent this first week discussing our plans for the year, getting everyone's calendars up to date, getting familiar with our new curriculum, and learning our new schedule. Everyone did some work this week. Dad has been reading this book aloud before bed to get us ready for this time period in history.
It was a good first week of school. We enjoyed getting back on our schedule and getting to stay home more!
Other things that happened this week...
We finished the remodel of the camper. I just have to make new curtains and then we will be ready to go! Thanks to Meme and Papa for all their help!
Logan finished up with the Teen Summer Book Club at the library. He won second place in the end drawing and came home with a ton of gifts. He had a good experience with this group of people. He also attended a church lock in at our church where he had tons of fun playing games, having a devotional, eating, and enjoying Christian fellowship.
Savannah went fishing with Meme and Papa. She had a wonderful time and earned a new Indian name. She is now "Two Stumps."
Lillian won her first sparing match in Taekwondo. (better known in our home as ballet with butt kicking)
Our rooster is learning to crow. If you have never heard this, it is quite painful to hear so early in the morning. I'm sure he will have it down soon though!
Shane and I took a long drive and a short hike together. We were looking for a new place to camp that might be closer to his job. It was a beautiful place, but not for us to camp in. It just has primitive sites, which might be good for a weekend stay, but not for when he has to go to work each day.
We have had a week full of blessings! God is good all the time! I hope you all have a blessed week.
