Week 14- Sabbath Week, Or Not

Well we were supposed to be on Sabbath Week this past week, however we decided to not.  We have missed quite a bit of school days for doctor appointments.  So we had not finished all the work we needed to for this past 6 weeks.

We did some fun things this week, and we didn't work as hard as normal school weeks, but we finished everything we needed to.

Bible: This week in Proverbs People we discussed the simple, scorning, and nabal fools.  We also finished the section on the prudent and wise man.  This finished up Proverbs People.

Science- We did not do anything for science this week since we finished this 6 Week's science curriculum a couple of weeks ago.

Math- Everyone just kept right on going, completing 1 lesson a day in Saxon Math.

Read Aloud- We finished up Indian Captive.  The book got much better after the first 3 or 4 chapters. I'm glad we stuck with it.

History- We finished reading Rebecca. It has been a favorite. We also dug out all our WWI posters and finished discussing the war.

Language Arts- Savannah worked more writing her book, but this will now be a "just for fun" project.  Lillian worked more in her new curriculum.  Logan completed two lessons in his IEW.

Now to the fun things we did this week...

Monday: Lillian had Taekwondo and Logan had music.  I got to spend an hour catching up with a wonderful friend that I don't get to see very often.

Tuesday: There has been a really neat traveling ministry in our town this week called Messiah's Mansion.  It was a recreation of the temple. So after we voted, we took the kids to do the tour.  My pictures do not do it justice, it was rainy and foggy.  It was really neat, I'm glad we took time to go see it.

Wednesday: Lillian went to Kid's Club.  Logan and Savannah had trap practice.  Then we went to church and play practice.

Thursday: We finished school early and we went on a nature walk.  It has been really rainy lately, so it was good to be outside! I also took time to gather our new curriculum for the next 6 weeks.

Friday: We got up and went to the park.  I've been promising the girls roller skating for awhile.  We finally were able to make it happen.  The girls skated, Logan shot them with his Nerf gun, Logan and I played beyblades.  We walked the trails a bit.  Some friends stopped by and visited a bit. It was a good relaxing morning!

We also pulled out our big list of fall family fun ideas and checked off all we have done, and decided which things we want to do next.

This weekend the boys will be hunting.  I'm not sure what us girls are going to do.  I'm hoping for a restful weekend!

Oh, and we decided to take the entire week off for Thanksgiving, we have some fun things planned to make up for missing this Sabbath Week.

God bless!
