Week 15-A full week
According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.
Philippians 1:20 KJV
That verse was amongst our Bible readings this week and it really stood out to me. Oh to be as brave as the Christians of Paul's time. I find it hard sometimes to speak with strangers about my faith....and I am not afraid of the type of hardships thrown upon Christians during the time of the Roman Empire. I pray continually for the confidence to walk in the fullness of life for Jesus Christ.
We only had three days of school this week. Monday and Friday, Logan had appointments in Hot Springs. However, we got a lot accomplished while we were home.
Bible: In our new Bible study we have met the Philippines, met Paul, and discussed standing firm with other Christian people.
Science: We made our new Science folder, and dug out all our rock samples and spent some time looking at the different types of rocks.
Math: Everyone is continuing on.
Read Aloud:. We read through chapter 4 of The Ears Of Louis. So far we like it. We have had many discussions on the fact that many kids say the meanest things to people they hardly even know. I do not know why this happens.
History: We started our next American Girl book, Kit. We also read through William Bradford's Thanksgiving speech. If you ever wonder if our country was founded on Christian beliefs, I urge you to go back and read the letters and speeches of our forefathers.
Language Arts: Everyone just got one lesson completed in this subject this week.
Art: We did several art projects this week. We made homemade cinnamon Play-Doh and sculpted with it. We did a multimedia project, a button tree. We also went on a nature walk to see God's artwork and made glycerin leaves with some of our better finds.
I wanted to take a moment and express my thankfulness to our church family for gifting Logan with his Trac chair. I know it is a simple thing to most, but my heart was filled with joy this week as I watched him on our nature walk. In the past, he has spotted things he wanted and the girls and I would go get it for him. This year, he has the freedom to go gather on his own. We are so blessed by our church family.
This week, both Logan and Shane killed nice bucks. I am thankful for full freezers again!
This week I also had time to finish a project. The kids made the string art arrows and I made the sign.
I truly hope everyone has a very blessed Thanksgiving this upcoming week!!
And opt out of Black Friday and spend it with those you love!!
