Week 18

Savannah has been playing again. I so love to hear her play!

This week in school:

Bible: Continuing on in our study of Phillipians this week we discussed our attitudes at home.  Our Bible study stated that we should try to make our homes like a little piece of heaven by showing kindness for each other, being humble, and trying to be helpful to one another in our family.  I hope my children grow up knowing our home is a safe place of love that they can always return to.

Science: We worked in our Rock Folders this week and discussed the rock cycle.

Math: Each child is continuing with one lesson a day.

Read Aloud: We finished "The Ears of Louis." It was a cute book, but not a favorite.  We will be reading winter/Christmas books now until break. We also finished our nightly read aloud, "The Great Turkey Walk.". Dad and the kids all loved this book, I honestly can't formulate an opinion on it.  We started "In a Blue Velvet Dress" at bedtime..it is keeping us wanting to know who is responsible for the mysterious books!! Everyone begs for one more chapter!

History: The girls and I finished reading The American Girl Meet Kit book.  We also finished our discussion on the great depression.  We have watched "Booky and The Secret Santa" every Christmas Season, so the kids pulled from that for relevance.  We also watched some Shirley Temple movies. We will also be watching "It's a Wonderful Life" tonight to finish up this section in our history. We will start our last American girl history section next week.  So I'll have to find something new for after break. Logan is continuing on with his history.

Language Arts: Everyone is continuing on just fine.  Lillian and Logan are both doing great in their new books.  Savannah is still really liking hers and moving right along.

P.E.: We started something new this week.  For about 40 minutes each morning we do areobic style exercises outside.  By Wednesday we could all tell we were out of shape, we were all sore!!

Other happenings this week:

Advent week of "Peace" and started our Jesse Tree nightly scripture.

Monday, Lillian had her next test in Taekwondo.  She was more nervous this time, but passed to the next level with ease!

Tuesday, Meme and I went to our church's ladies Christmas party. The kids went Christmas shopping with Dad.

Wednesday, we stayed home.  My surburban broke down Monday and it was still in the shop so we couldn't go anywhere.

Thursday, We took a trip to the zoo and Logan had a doctor's appointment.

Friday, our class was rescheduled, so we stayed home all day!!

I hope you all had a blessed week.
