Week 19

We need a break!  Tempers were easy to flare this week.  None of us feel very well.  I think a few days of rest would do us all a ton of good.  We've got one more week before we go on Christmas break and have some days of rest.

In school this week:

Bible: We are almost finished with our study of Phillipians.  We are still covering the importance of a humble spirit.

Science: We did not do any science at home this week.

Math: I'm trying to make sure everyone gets to a good stopping point for the break.  So, they are working on steadily.

Read Aloud: We read "The Crippled Lamb" and "The Mitten" this week. We started reading "Socks for Christmas" before bed.

History: Logan joined the girls this week in History.  We read through the first couple of chapters of "Meet Molly."  We got out all our posters on WWII and discussed the war.

Language Arts: Everyone just got one lesson done this week in their language lessons.

In other news this week:

Sunday the girls sang a special at church.

Monday, Lillian received her new stripes for her new rank of second degree yellow belt.  Logan had music.

Tuesday we had to wait at the store for a shipment, so while we were there we did some art.  We went to a Christmas party with some friends Tuesday night.  We ate good food, played fun games, and had a great time.

Wednesday morning we had our Dutch oven co-op at Grandview.

Wednesday afternoon Lillian had Kid's Club and Logan and Savannah went to trap practice. Then we had church.

Thursday afternoon there was a 4H Food Explorers Meeting.  The kids got to decorate graham cracker gingerbread houses. They loved it!

Friday morning we had our Drawing with Ruth co-op class in the morning.  I have to tell you, these eyes looked great until the eyelashes.  I think my kids might have gotten a bit carried away with lashes.  They still look good, but they were awesome before the lashes!! Friday night we took a family trip to Texarkana.  Dad picked out his Christmas present, we went out to eat, and I picked up some things for my Sunday school class.

Saturday morning we had a 4H Sharp Shooters meeting.  Papa came and gave us a class on primitive black powder guns.  We then made cinnamon stick Christmas ornaments and shotgun shell wreaths. It was a lot of fun.

So as you can tell, another week completely filled!
