Week 20- The half way mark
The school year is half over guys!! I really can't believe how fast it has gone by. It seems like every year moves a bit faster.
I don't have many pictures from this week. I have been so sick!! I mostly just dropped kids off at events and struggled to finish up our subjects. We made it through though!
We did not do any math or language arts this week. We also focused on one subject per day to finish up in the subjects we needed to finish.
Monday and Tuesday we finished up our geology study in science. We learned about igneous and metamorphic rocks. We also touched on minerals, metals, and gems. We did a floating rock experiment. The kids were surprised to find out there really is a rock that will float. They thought I was being a little dingy when I told them we were going to do a sink or float experiment with rocks.
Wednesday we finished our Bible study in Phillipians, "The Heart of Humility." It was a good study.
Thursday we finished"Meet Molly" in History and finished our study on WWII. We read a book based on a true story called "The Butterfly." We never got around to watching Monuments Men, but we may over Christmas break.
Friday I had to cancel our co-op class Geography through Art. I was simply still to sick. I had barely a voice and still a sore throat.
In other happenings:
Monday, Meme came and picked up Logan for music. I dropped the girls off at a 4H Christmas party.
Tuesday I drove the kids to deliver presents to the residents of two local nursing homes.
Wednesday I was really sick, so I stayed home. Shane dropped the kids off at a church Christmas party.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday we stayed home except for a little bit of last minute Christmas shopping and grocery buying.
We will be on Christmas break for the next two weeks. We have one fun trip planned and a remodel project underway. Hopefully I will completely recover soon so I can enjoy our break.
Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!
