Week 18-I can't believe it is December!
This week we did not get a whole lot of book work done. We did learn a lot this week though!
Monday we started with a Home Ec. project that ended up taking all day long! We sorted clothes from all three kids' closets. We took out summer clothes or outgrown clothes and got out winter clothes. It took all day! Lillian found an Arkose rock Monday afternoon. She was very excited and plans on digging up some more. Monday evening we did not have music and horse riding lessons, but we did have an advent family night at home.
Tuesday we got up and headed to Little Rock. We went to see the play "A Mother Goose's Christmas." It was a good play, everyone enjoyed it. It did not make our favorite list, but still worth going to see. After the play we went on an art scavenger hunt through the art gallery. Logan then had an appointment to get a new brace and then we headed home. Logan got to work one on one with Mr. Rob Tuesday evening using Tinker Cad. That evening I read to us a new favorite story about the birth of Jesus. Today was also my brother's birthday. He would have been 41 this year. Man how the years have flown. So I just want to say, Happy Birthday Bubba. I'll meet you by the river some sweet day. I love you.
Wednesday we woke up to a little Agri disaster. Savannah's momma bunny had babies, again, and she still had the other babies nursing. The bigger babies had pushed two of the newborns out and they froze to death, but there were still three more newborns. So we had to move bunnies again. It took us most of the morning to get a pen ready and move everyone around. So anybody need a bunny for Christmas? We then had brunch then video school for a couple of hours. We watched two movies in the Inventors series, one on Einstein and one on Galileo. Logan also read aloud a story to us about Paul Revere's horse. Then we left for kids club and youth. We then went home and Savannah fixed supper for us.
Thursday we actually got some book work done! We also did an art project, we made paper chains for our old fashioned decorated Christmas tree. We worked hard all day. In science Logan is studying Monkeys and Apes in Biology, Savannah is studying Alkali metals in Chemistry, and Lillian is studying the solar system. Thursday afternoon the kids had a 4H Christmas party. It was a great party, they made a gift to give, played a present swap game, a ball bounce game, and took some selfies with some props. They also got to eat pizza, which is always a favorite! We then rushed home for a new tutoring student.
Friday morning the kids watched Monet from the Artist Studio Films while I tried to get ready for a STEM class I was to teach after lunch. My project did not work how I wanted it too, so I picked another one to go along with it. We then had lunch and headed out to STEM class. Our class was supposed to be making a Christmas String of Lights using aluminum foil, batteries, and replacement bulbs. We were able to get one light going, but no more than that. So we spent the majority of the class time making a model of DNA strands. After STEM class we headed to start our new Archery club. Everyone had a great time and did really well! They were apprehensive to start, but now they are excited to continue!
Saturday morning Logan and Dad went to run some errands and over to finish helping our friend with some electrical. He found out his truck needs some major repairs...NEVER GOOD! The girls and I went and did our grocery shopping for the week. We met back at home for lunch then we all went over to help Meme and Papa work some new heifers they got. After that we went shoe shopping for Logan, a new brace always means new shoes! We missed our church Christmas Party, and we were all sad about that, but there is just so many hours in the day and we can't seem to get everything in right now.
Today is Sunday and we went to Sunday School and then we went to eat with Meme and Papa and then to go look at a horse. It has been a long week and I am exhausted! I hope everyone had a great week.
