Week 21 Sabbath Week and lost days
This has been a tough week. We have all been so very sick. But for recording purposes I will try to remember all I can.
Saturday Papa came and picked up Logan for a surprise. Papa and Logan's long time violin teacher got together and refurbished Logan a beautiful violin. It sounds so wonderful and is so beautiful.
Sunday was Christmas Eve. We woke up not feeling great, but ok. We went to church and participated in the candle light service. This is only the second time I have seen a candle light service, and I love it. Logan and Lillian also played Silent Night. After church we went to Meme and Papa's house for my birthday lunch. I love my parents so much. I have been very blessed in the parent department. I don't know what I would do without them. After my birthday celebration we went to the nursing home, the girls and I sang with our church group that was there, then we all visited with Nana for awhile. We then went back to my parents for our Christmas with them as is our tradition every year. It was a great Christmas time.
Monday morning was Christmas! The kids opened their stockings while I fixed breakfast. Then Shane read the Christmas story from Luke's account in the Bible. Logan found the Christmas pickle, so he got to open the first present. My parents came over and the children showed them their presents then we ate lunch and played a card game.
It was a great Christmas. I feel like something was missing this year. I'm not sure if that is because I have been so sick or if I'm just not use to things yet since our move. This was also the first year our kids have not been in a production of the Christmas Story at a church. It just felt like something was missing this year.
Tuesday is when I start loosing days. We all were sick a day or two. Lillian, Logan, and I are still not fully recovered. Logan is still coughing with nearly every breath, Lillian's fever got up to 102.5° again today. My head feels like it is going to explode still, and my fever comes and goes. I am so ready to be well. Our doctor comes back from vacation Tuesday, so hopefully we can get in to see him and get some medicine. We have all slept a whole lot, which tells me we are really sick, my crew never sleeps much!
I know one day we had to run to town to return library books that were late. I explained about being sick, and encouraged them to germx or Lysol the books. They were kind to not charge us. I was so thankful, when each child checks out 10 books, that can really add up the late fees! While we were in town we took Lillian to get her ears pierced, a Christmas gift she was most excited about. We grabbed some more medicine and soup and headed back home.
After that Shane and Savannah were the most well. We all slept a bunch more. At some point Shane started trying to install our family gift of a dishwasher. It still isn't finished, but one day.
I am so thankful for some dear friends that brought us food one night, which was amazingly good and even more appreciated! I am also so thankful for my parents who have brought us food and medicine off and on all week.
I know today is Sunday, the last day of the year, but only because I keep reminding myself! We had to cancel our plans for tonight. I assured the kids we could party another time, they are still not convinced. I know we will all fall back asleep soon. We have all taken our medicine, and hoping tomorrow will be a better day.
