Week 19-swoosh

I think I heard a swoosh as this week flew past us!  I blinked and it was time to upload photos of the week and do our weekly update!  The days are speeding towards Christmas, and I am not finished with Christmas shopping, which I might add is so unlike me.  I am usually finished way before Thanksgiving.  Not this year!

Monday was an Agri day again.  We went horse shopping in the morning.  We finally found what I think we have been looking for.  Penny is a retired roping horse.  She has had kids on and off her all her life.  She just stood there and let us all pet her and love on her.  She stood still to be saddled and bridled.  Only time will tell, but we have hope that she will be a good fit.  I will have to get rid of my mare, which makes me sad.  She just isn't a good fit to help train young riders, and she doesn't like to ride close to other horses, so it just was not working to teach new riders.  When we got Penny home and unloaded we worked the new heifers again.  I left the kids with Meme and Papa for music lessons and I ran to the feed store to get a new shot gun and needles.  I also did some quick house cleaning.

Tuesday we took a sick day.  We usually don't take complete sick days.  When one of us are sick we usually have school in the living room, or watch school videos.  Today we took a complete day off.  Lillian had been sick through the night Sunday night.  Savannah had horrible congestion and allergy problems.  Logan had a horrible cough, Papa came and took him to the doctor since we are having to watch his lungs closely and he was running a low grade fever.  Tuesday night was the nursing home's Christmas Dinner.  Since Logan was still running fever, Logan and I stayed home.  Shane took the girls and they ate dinner with Nana and opened her present we sent her.  And guess who Lillian ran into again!

Wednesday we all felt much better. No fever, no coughs, not many allergy problems.  So we had Home Ec day.  Logan cleaned and cleaned.  The girls and I made cupcakes, chili, and sub sandwiches.  The girls also received a letter today from Mother Goose, they were excited to get the letter, but disappointed with its contents.  It simply was inviting our family to spend more money at the art center.  Wednesday afternoon we had a Homeschool Family Nerf Gun War!!!  We had so much fun with this, for two days us homeschool moms trashed talked each other on who was going to win.  We ended up going boys vs girls.  We had 6 kids and 4 parents participate in the wars.  We played capture the flag.  Afterwards we ate some delish food and visited for awhile.  It lasted well into the evening so we ended up missing all our church services.  It was so nice to visit with adults for awhile though!

Thursday was back to typical school.  Logan started his new elective, Coding-Writing Computer Code.  He had fun with this.  He made bubbles and words and also interacted with a stick figure on the screen he had to build stuff for.  It was pretty neat.  Savannah worked through her subjects and spent some extra reading time.  Lillian is officially caught up in Math.  Lillian also added Mercury to the solar system she had started building in science.  Thursday evening we had tutoring and the girls got some extra drawing lessons.  They worked on portraits.  They did an amazing job!

Friday morning  Papa and I moved the goats into their own pens.  I think Sky is about to have her babies.  We then put some food on for supper into the crock pot, tended to all the other animals and busted frozen water.  We then ran some errands and went to art class.  They worked on using water colors.  They did still life paintings of peppers and carrots, or they could pull a fruit or vegetable from memory if they wanted to.  After art we headed to archery.  The kids are all doing really well.

Saturday morning we had 4H Sharp Shooters.  Sky was not looking good, so we all went and started the meeting.  I did the business part of the meeting and then Lillian and I ran home to check on Sky while Dad and the rest of the Sharp Shooters toured the shot gun range and learned range safety.  When I got back they were all getting to try trap shooting.  They all did so good! Savannah did not want to try trap shooting. After 4H we stayed at Grandview and had a picnic lunch and then went to a nature ornament making class.  They kids all used elements of nature to make ornaments.  They made some neat things!  We still have no baby goats, but I don't think it will be much longer.

We have had a busy week.  I am sooo ready for Christmas Break.  The children and all ready for break too.  Next week is our last week before break.  It should be a much calmer week, I'm hoping anyway!  I will be concentrating on Phil. 4:19 next week. "I will supply all your needs."
