Week 31-Peace and Craziness
This week I felt quite peaceful amongst all the craziness of our schedule. It was a welcome feeling. Usually I feel rushed and overwhelmed!
Monday we got all of our subjects in. Logan learned about Confucius in History. We did spring chalk pastel work in art. We read another cute fractured fairy tale. We are enjoying our new math curriculum so far. Dad did the helium voice for Savannah's science project. Monday evening we had riding lessons and music.
Tuesday we once again completed all our daily subjects. We worked more on chalk pastel art. Lillian made a caterpillar craft, she is studying insects in Science. Tuesday evening Logan had trap practice, so I took him and dropped him off and the girls and I came home to fly kites. We are not very good kite fliers.
Wednesday morning we did our morning subjects and then discussed Science. We needed to make sure everyone was on target to complete thier curriculum on time. I can't believe the school year is winding down already! Each child did Lillian's science project, they learned about 3 unique insects and colored their patterns. Wednesday after lunch we all worked on language arts. In the evening I took the kids to kid's club and youth and I went to walk in the park. This was Logan's last youth day, a friend of his is going to start staying with us on Wednesday evenings. Wednesday night we had church.
Thursday morning Papa came and picked up Logan. They went and worked on leather design art. The girls got to go spend some wonderful time with some ladies from church working on their sewing skills. I'm very blessed to have these wonderful Titus 2 women in our lives as such great examples, models, and mentors. Afterwards, we went and picked up Logan and came home for lunch and time observing in our butterfly garden. We didn't see any butterflies, but we laughed and enjoyed each other's company! Thursday evening the kids went with Dad to 4H Poultry training.
Friday we made it to Matthew 24. It took us awhile to get through bible study, lots of good questions from the kids on this chapter of Matthew. I don't mind missing some subjects when we get to have such good discussion on our Bible study. We did more spring art with chalk pastels. We started a new read aloud. Papa came and picked up Logan for therapy, I had to wait at the house to sign for some packages from UPS. The girls taught their bears how to climb trees. We missed archery, I was still waiting on UPS. We had a restful evening at home.
Saturday we had a 4H meeting. We did a bicycle course, bb shoot, bait casting, archery, and the older kids shot trap. The girls went to spend time with their friends while the older kids shot trap.
A few other things I wanted to mention from this week...
Dad started on our raised bed vegetable garden and the kids all planted flowers and strawberries.
Lillian did some Rock painting this week...
We added some more flowers to our flower beds...
Our food budget has been going way over every month due to us eating out so much. I made it a goal this week to not eat out. I made a crock pot meal every day for our supper meal, and we made it!! We ate at home for every meal!
I hope everyone had a blessed week and are ready to Spring forward this weekend!
