Week 12- Hanging in there!
This week I spent quite a bit of time arranging activities for our Homeschool Group and our 4H group. We also had quite a few out of the house events this week. We worked hard to keep caught up with our assignments!
Bible- We finished the section in Proverbs People on liars.
Science-We finished all our book work on botany last week. So, we gathered seeds from our magnolia tree and our dogwood tree in hopes to start some baby trees in the spring. We also made plans to clean out the garden and get it ready for winter.
Math- Everyone is working steadily in Saxon Math.
Read Aloud - The Indian Captive is finally getting a little more interesting. We finished two chapters this week.
History- Logan finished up the first book of Notgrass History From Adam to Us. The girls continued on in American Girl History, we talked a lot about hope chests. Do girls still have hope chest these days?
Language Arts- Lillian is finishing up some of her books, so I've ordered her some new ones. Savannah finished her literature study on Callie's Contest of Courage. She will be working on finishing her story she is writing next. Logan had to write a couple of essays to finish up his history, so that counted as his language this week.
Art- We had Geography through Art co-op class this week. We talked about China and made scrolls, learned some pictographs, and made a Chinese dragon. We had enough time to play and visit with our friends afterwards.
Other things that went on this week:
Sunday the girls sang a special at church.
Monday, Lillian had Taekwondo. Music was cancelled, so Logan went deer hunting. That let me and Savannah be able to attend a mom's night out! We had a good time.
Tuesday, Shane had to work really late. The kids and I ran some errands in town and then cleaned house.
Wednesday, Logan had two different appointments in Little Rock. We also went shoe shopping for him because he got a new AFO brace. As soon as we got home it was time for Logan and Savannah to go to trap practice. When that was over we went to church for play practice. It was a long day! We left the house at 5am and got home at 9pm!!
Friday evening the kids stayed with their grandparents and Shane and I had a date night. We had not been out together in over 8 months. We went out to eat, did some shopping for the house, and got a little bit of Christmas shopping done. We also were able to find Savannah her very own trap gun. She was supper excited!
Saturday we attended a fall fest at a church family members house. It was a lot of fun. We played bow and arrow tag, bow and arrow target practice, pumpkin bowling, horse shoes, trap shooting, ate delicious food, went on a hay ride, and listened to a live band. I'm just going to say, you haven't really lived until you have seen a bowling ball launched from a homemade cannon! We had a great time visiting with friends and family.
We had a blessed week, and I hope you did too.
