Week 34-Homeschooling at the lake

We got home Saturday night, threw some laundry in the wash and crashed. Sunday morning we went to church, then that evening we were off again to the lake. We have been wanting to go camping for awhile, but the weather just has not been good.  We had a good weather outlook, the lake was still higher than normal due to all the rain we have had, but we took advantage of a good forecast and took the trip.

In school this week we changed things up since we were not home.  The children took their language arts with them, so they continued on in those studies.  Here is a look at what we used for school books for their other subjects.

Logan also did some Dutch oven cooking. He is such a good cook!

The children went fishing, and cleaned their fish or helped.  They weighed their catch, then even took a look inside to see if we had male or female fish. It is time for the females to start laying eggs, so the females were full of yellow fish eggs.

We played a new game we had bought at the homeschool convention called Suspend.  It is so fun!

We took walks, played in the very cold water, played music and enjoyed being outside.

We came home Wednesday afternoon.  Thursday morning I had a dentist appointment.  Logan and Savannah read from some new books.  Lillian drew pictures and took these photos of a little gray squirrel that we could see from the window in my room. After the dentist we went and had a picnic at the park.

Friday morning was our last day of art classes.  We have had so much fun! Here are some samples of the art they did in their classes and their classmates. One of Savannah's classes was on stop motion animation, so I didn't get a picture of any of that.

Saturday morning Logan and Savannah had their first trap tournament.  This was Savannah's very first tournament.  It was really windy and it rained during their shooting time, so they didn't do as well as they wanted.  We are very proud of them both though! They had fun, and that is all we really want from this experience anyway, and they shot really good even if they don't think so!

We received our welcome kit and first letter from our new pen pal this week too.  We are excited to start learning about her and her country and be a part of this mission!

We had a wonderfully full and blessed week!
